How Our Network Works

Who you talk to

You talk to an independent local provider. Not a big company. Not us. Messagechocolate Tree Service makes the introduction, and the provider runs the job.

Each provider sets its own prices, schedule and methods. That is why you should ask questions before you agree to anything.

What happens on the call

Keep it simple. The provider asks about the tree. Species, height, lean, and what sits underneath or beside it. They may ask for photos. They may want to visit before quoting.

Have your notes ready:

  • Where the tree stands and how close it is to the house, lines or fences
  • What you saw happen, and when
  • Photos from a few angles
  • Whether the stump needs grinding too

Request a callback to check provider availability. Many providers can respond quickly, but it depends on their schedule and the weather.

What to ask a provider

Write the answers down. Get it on record.

  • Is the quote in writing, and what does it include?
  • Does the price cover cleanup and haul-off?
  • Does the stump come out, or stay?
  • What licenses and insurance do you carry? Can I see proof?
  • How will you protect my roof, yard and sump or drain lines?
  • If the ground is frozen or soaked, what changes?
  • Can you provide notes or photos I can share with my insurer?

You are in control

You can ask for more than one estimate. You can say no. You can take time to think. Requesting an estimate carries no obligation.

Some policies may cover sudden damage, such as a storm-felled tree. Check your policy and talk to your insurer. A provider can often help document the damage, but they do not decide your claim.
